Alimentos a granel

Frequently asked questions about Alimentos a granel

Where can I buy bulk foods online?

Right here. Country Life Natural Foods is a family-run natural foods store that has sold bulk foods since 1960, and we ship 280+ bulk staples from our store in Pullman, Michigan: grains, oats, flours, beans, lentils, rice, nuts, seeds, dried fruit and popcorn. Most come in 1 lb or 5 lb bags for the pantry and 25 lb or 50 lb bags for serious stocking up.

Where can I find affordable organic pantry staples with bulk options?

Most of our bulk staples come in certified organic versions, and the larger bags cost far less per pound. Organic chickpeas, for example, come in 1, 5, 25 and 50 lb bags, and organic rolled oats in 5, 25 and 50 lb bags. You'll also find organic quinoa, lentils, wheat berries, brown rice, chia and flax. Browse everything in our organic collection.

Do you offer free shipping or a membership for bulk food orders?

Yes to both. Standard shipping is free on orders over $99 to the lower 48 states, with no surcharge for heavy items, so 50 lb bags ship free too. If you order often, Country Life+ membership is $99 a year and gives you free shipping on every order of any size, plus free express fulfillment (normally $25). Most orders arrive in 5 to 7 business days.

Do you sell bulk foods wholesale?

Yes. Stores, bakeries, restaurants and other businesses can apply for a wholesale account at countrylifefoods.com/wholesale, and approval takes 24 to 48 hours. There's no minimum order. Wholesale discounts grow with order size, shipping is free starting at $99, and pallet pricing and net terms are available for qualified accounts. Many of our staples come in 25 lb and 50 lb bags that suit commercial kitchens.

What sizes do your bulk foods come in?

Most bulk staples come in 1 lb and 5 lb bags plus 25 lb or 50 lb bags, and some items have their own case sizes, like 30 lb raisins, 44 lb Brazil nuts or a 55 lb sack of sesame seeds. The 25 lb and 50 lb sizes ship in paper bags; 5 lb bags and smaller pouch sizes are plastic. See our biggest sizes in 25 lb and over.

What are the best bulk foods for nuts and grains?

For grains, we carry rolled and steel cut oats, wheat berries including Wheat Montana Bronze Chief and Prairie Gold, Kamut, spelt, einkorn, quinoa, millet and Lundberg rice. For nuts, there are whole and sliced almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans, pistachios, Brazil nuts and hazelnuts, many in organic versions. Organic quinoa, for example, comes in 1, 5 and 25 lb bags.

How do I store bulk dry foods?

Keep them cool, dry and dark in airtight containers. For big bags, many customers transfer grains and beans into food-grade 5 gallon pails with screw-on gamma seal lids, or into Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers for long-term storage. Whole grains and dried beans generally keep longer than flours, nuts and seeds, which do best in the fridge or freezer. We carry food storage supplies too.
