Frequently asked questions about Menaje de cocina

Where can I buy a Bosch mixer?

Right here. We carry the Bosch Universal Plus kitchen mixer in black and in white, sold online only. You'll also find add-ons for it, including the Universal Plus Blender Attachment and the Bosch Baker's Bundle with cookie paddles, cake paddles and a bowl scraper. Pair it with a NutriMill grain mill for fresh whole-grain bread. See the Bosch Universal Plus in black.

Is the Bosch Universal Plus good for kneading bread dough?

Yes, it's built for it. With the included dough hook extender, the Universal Plus kneads as little as one loaf (3 cups of flour) or up to ten 1-pound loaves of white or whole grain dough. The motor sits beneath the bowl and drives the hook through a belt transmission, with 4 speeds plus pulse. Four suction feet hold it steady on the counter while it works.

Which NutriMill grain mill should I buy?

We carry three. The Harvest is a stone mill with near diamond-hard corundum stones, a 450-watt motor and a bamboo body, in six colors. The Classic is an impact mill that grinds up to 20 cups of flour at a time, from super fine to cornbread-coarse. The Impact is a smaller, entry-level mill designed for bread flour. See the NutriMill Harvest Grain Mill.

What grains can I grind into flour at home?

Most dry, non-oily grains, beans and legumes. NutriMill lists hard and soft wheat, spelt, kamut, rye, barley, oat groats, rice, corn and popcorn, buckwheat, millet, teff, quinoa, dry beans, lentils and split peas for the Classic mill. Oily seeds like flax, herbs and spices aren't suitable. To get started, try our Mill Your Own Flour organic grain starter kit.

Do you sell sprouting jars?

We carry The Sprout Spout, a sprouter designed with more airflow than a traditional jar. The maker says most seeds sprout in 2 to 4 days with about 30 seconds of rinsing a day, with no soil or sunlight needed. It comes apart for cleaning, and the stainless steel screen is removable and goes in the dishwasher. See The Sprout Spout.
