Homemade Vegan Deli Slices Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup dry split red lentils
- 3 cups hot water
- 1 cup cool water
- 2 Tbsp. onion flakes
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 tsp. liquid aminos
- 2 Tbsp. yeast flakes
- ¾ tsp. celery seed
- ¼ tsp. ground oregano
- ½ tsp. Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp. ground cumin
- 2 tsp. garlic
- 2 Tbsp. CLNF Not Chicken seasoning
- 1 Tbsp. smoked yeast
Directions:
- Soak lentils in hot water for 15 minutes, until soft.
- Blend in a blender until very smooth.
- Add the pureed lentils to a saucepan with seasonings and blend with a whisk. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes, adding cool water as needed (up to 1 cup) until fully cooked (color will lighten a bit).
- Pour into a loaf pan and let cool for 1 hour before placing in the refrigerator to chill for 3-4 hours or overnight if desired.
- Slice for use in sandwiches, cut in cubes for salads, and more!
- Store on the fridge and enjoy within 5 days.
