Frequently asked questions about Comidas fáciles CLNF

What are CLNF Easy Meals?

They're our own plant-based meal mixes. Each bag holds the dried beans, lentils, vegetables and spices for a dish, so you just add water and simmer or bake. The lineup includes Instant Chili, Cuban Black Bean Soup, French Lentil Soup, Organic Red Lentil Curry, two Ethiopian lentil stews, Not Meatloaf, Not Turkey Roast, a sesame oatburger mix, and our tofu scramble seasonings.

How long do your easy meals take to make?

It depends on the dish. Cuban Black Bean Soup is ready in about 10 minutes, and Instant Chili simmers for 10 minutes, then rests 10. The Ethiopian lentil stews cook in about half an hour, Red Lentil Curry in 30 to 40 minutes, and French Lentil Soup in 45 to 60. Not Meatloaf and Not Turkey Roast bake for 45 minutes, so dinner is ready in about an hour.

Are your easy meals vegan?

Yes. Every meal and seasoning in this collection is plant-based, with no meat, dairy or eggs. The cheesy and "chicken" flavors come from nutritional yeast, herbs and spices, and the hearty texture in our chili and roasts comes from soy fines or wheat protein. They're packed in a facility that also handles nuts, peanuts, soy, sesame and wheat, so check each allergen statement.

Do you have soy-free or wheat-free meal options?

Yes. Our Instant Chili comes in two versions: Soy Free, made with wheat protein shreds, and Wheat Free, made with textured soy. The Misir Wot and Alicha lentil stews, Red Lentil Curry and Cuban Black Bean Soup don't list soy or wheat in their ingredients, but they're packed in a facility that handles both. See Instant Chili, Wheat Free.

How many servings does each meal make?

Most pouches feed two hungry people. Cuban Black Bean Soup makes 4 cups, or two bowls, and each Instant Chili pouch makes 2 hearty or 4 lighter servings. Not Meatloaf and Not Turkey Roast make 8 servings each, so they're great for a holiday table. With the Sesame Oatburger Mix, 4 cups of dry mix make about 16 patties.

What are Misir Wot and Alicha?

They're Ethiopian red lentil stews created in partnership with Gemadi Bekuto, a former Ethiopian food truck owner. Misir Wot is the spicy one, seasoned with berbere spice. Alicha is mild, seasoned with cardamom and turmeric. Both start by toasting the lentil mix in a little oil, then simmer for about 20 minutes. Serve them with flatbread or rice. Try Misir Wot.
