My chocolate substitute

We have been out of our stash of carob powder for several months Amma was glad to get some more from Country Life. We use it mostly in banana smoothies with a drop of peppermint oil and its delicious! Makes a great vegan pudding with avocado's too!

We love it very much! Ever since we became a vegan in 1999, we have been using Carob Powder, Medium Roast for chocolate substitute and it has been working great for pies, cookies, cakes, puddings, cream fillings, etc. I will recommend to everyone. God bless you!

I really love this carob, but I never try to "slip" it by on people. I tell them, "This may look like chocolate, but it's not. It's carob. Carob has it's own excellent taste, but like any unique flavor, it's unfamiliar at first. So try this dessert, but don't put the spoon in your mouth and think, "cocoa"; think "carob". Don't expect familiar; expect something new to explore. Taste it as something new on its own. You may find it becomes a taste you like, maybe even crave.

My favorite uses: refrigerator "ice" cream with coconut, water, and flax. "Maximum Carob" oatmeal.
