Simple Vegan Fried Tofu Recipe

Simple Vegan Fried Tofu Recipe

Are you looking for a easy tofu recipe you can add to anything or just eat on its own? Well look no further! Here is a simple way to fry your tofu, and you can eat it so many different ways once you are done!

Ingredients

  • 1 block firm or extra-firm tofu

  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

1.Press the tofu by placing paper towels underneath and on top of the block and weighing it down for 10-20 minutes, getting as much water out as possible.

2.Once it has less water, slice the pressed tofu into 1/2-inch cubes (or whatever size you prefer).

3.In a small bowl, combine the tofu with the nutritional yeast, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Make sure the tofu gets covered well. If you would like, you could place the cubes in a Ziploc bag and shake them.

4.In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat until hot. Add the tofu. Cook for 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and lightly crispy on most sides.

5.Add to rice or any other type of meal, or eat them by themselves. Enjoy!

  • Prepare the tofu as in recipe but instead of frying bake it at 400 degrees, It turns out crispy and delicious but without the fat.
