WE'RE KEEPING THINGS LOCAL
At Country Life Natural Foods, we are proud to say that many of our unprocessed products like legumes, grains, nuts, and dried fruit, come directly from local farmers across the United States.
Not only does this approach help us keep prices low, but it also ensures we're providing you with the freshest, purest ingredients—free from the risks of questionable farming practices or ingredients.
By partnering with family-owned farms, we cut out the middleman and avoid import taxes, which helps us keep costs down.
Recently, this has become even more relevant in light of the tariff increases imposed on imported goods coming from overseas.
While this might raise prices for many businesses, we're proud that our pricing for most of our products remains unaffected. Our sourcing model means we aren't relying on international imports that could be hit with steep tariffs, so we don't need to pass those costs onto you.
WHY LOCAL SOURCING MATTERS
The decision to source products directly from U.S. farmers isn't just about cutting unnecessary costs. It's also about quality and trust.
With local sourcing, we can ensure the ingredients we offer are top-notch— with a wide variety of organic options, and always free of questionable additives. Our customers can rest easy knowing exactly where their food is coming from, and that it's grown in a way that prioritizes both health and sustainability.

Farmers we partner with use methods that promote the health of the soil and the environment, making sure each crop is cultivated with care.
By sourcing locally, we also support the agricultural communities across the U.S., keeping money in the local economy and building lasting relationships with the very people who grow the food we consume.

THE IMPACT OF RECENT TARIFFS ON IMPORTED GOODS

On February 1, 2025, the Trump Administration issued a series of executive orders imposing 25% tariffs on all imports from Canada and Mexico and 10% tariffs on imports from China and Hong Kong. These tariffs were initially set to take effect on February 4, 2025, but were delayed until March 4, 2025, after Canada and Mexico reached a temporary agreement with the United States. Most recently, on April 2, 2025, reciprocal tariffs went into effect, which impact food products from many other nations across the globe.
The tariffs cover products like beans, grains, nuts, and oils—many of which we proudly source from U.S. farmers. With these tariffs in place, prices for imported goods are expected to rise. For us, though, our commitment to local sourcing means that for most of the products we carry we won't be directly impacted.
We're proud to say that our pantry staples—such as beans, grains, nuts, and oils—are sourced from within the U.S., sparing our customers from any price increases that might result from tariffs. For us, it's all about providing reliable, transparent pricing, no matter what happens in the international marketplace.
