About Cutting Boards

Wooden boards made in the USA

A good board is one of the most-used tools in a whole-foods kitchen. Our boards come from Refine Kitchenware, a maker that builds them from scratch in Ohio, and there are 20+ styles: everyday chopping boards, thick butcher blocks and serving boards for the table.

What you'll find

  • End grain butcher blocks — walnut, calico walnut and maple, up to 2" thick, with rubber feet
  • Everyday boards — 18" x 12" walnut, maple and cherry boards with juice grooves, thumb holes or handles
  • Extra large boards — 20" x 15" and 24" x 18", with optional feet, pocket handles and juice grooves
  • Serving and charcuterie boards — walnut paddles and 18" round boards
  • Accessories — brass cutting board feet, set of 4

Frequently asked questions about Cutting Boards

Do you have charcuterie boards with handles?

Yes, several. Our walnut paddle boards come in 5.5" x 18" and 8.5" x 18" (or both as a set), and round walnut paddle boards come in 12" and 18" circles. There's also an 18" x 12" reversible board with handles and a juice groove that doubles as a serving tray, plus a cherry version. See the walnut paddle board with handle.

Do you sell end grain walnut cutting boards?

Yes. Our end grain walnut butcher blocks come in 18" x 12" x 1.25", 20" x 15" x 1.5" and 24" x 18" x 2", with rubber feet, and you can add a juice groove. They're also available in hard maple and calico walnut. End grain boards are built with the ends of the wood pieces facing up, which the maker says gives them self-healing characteristics. See the end grain walnut cutting board.

What's the largest cutting board you carry?

Our largest boards are 24" x 18". Choose the end grain butcher block at up to 2" thick, a 1.25" thick board with feet, pocket handles and a juice groove, or a 24" x 18" walnut board with a juice groove that also works as a serving tray. Most come in walnut or maple. See the 24" x 18" board with feet and handles.

Where are your cutting boards made, and how do I care for them?

Our boards are made by Refine Kitchenware in Ohio from kiln-dried walnut, maple and cherry. Each one arrives ready to use, with a first coat of food-safe mineral oil already applied, and comes with a full care and maintenance guide. After that, keep the board seasoned with your preferred board oil or cream so it stays in good shape.

Can I personalize a cutting board as a gift?

Yes, on many of our boards. Pick one of five engraving designs on the product page and add your last name or other details, or choose No Personalization for a plain board. Walnut boards make a popular wedding, anniversary or housewarming gift. Our 18" x 12" boards with a juice groove are a good place to start. See the 18" x 12" wood cutting board.
