This high-protein hard red spring wheat from Wheat Montana is naturally air-dried with low moisture and excellent baking quality. This product is Certified Glyphosate Free and Non-GMO!
Bronze Chief wheat berries have plump kernels that bake up darker in color and are denser than white wheat, making them excellent for artisan-style bread and other baked goods.
The term "red" refers to the color of the wheat berries, which can range from light brown to deep red.
Red Wheat Berries are packed with nutritional goodness:
- Loaded with fiber to promote digestive health
- High in iron, zinc, and magnesium, which are essential for bone and muscle health.
- A good source of vitamin B and vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant.
They have a nutty flavor and chewy texture, making them an excellent addition to salads, soups, and other dishes. Some people even use them as a substitute for rice or quinoa.
While we pack each order with care to minimize seam breakage, the stitching is fragile on the 25# bags and may burst open during transit.

I finally milled the wheat berries and baked sour dough loaves. 60% Hard White Wheat and 40% Hard Red Spring Wheat. Great results on Gouda Lemon Thyme bread.
I had a really bad experience buying my wonderful Bronze Chief wheat from Amazon. I had bought it from them before and left a decent review even though the package arrived very beaten up. Then I took a leap of faith and ordered again. Received my wheat in a garbage bag. No kidding!! I changed my review, they've yet to post it. I vowed never to buy anything from them again that would have to be shipped with care. Then I found Country Life Natural Foods. So impressed, so satisfied. Bronze Chief is the best wheat I have ever used and Country Life's Customer Service emailed me along the way to let me know they were there for me. Much gratitude to all at Country Life (and Fedex) who made my shipment fast, easy, and arrival in tip-top condition.
