Usually Avoid Any Sulphur - This One's The Exception

Dried pineapple rings are one of my favorite snacks or dessert foods. I use to buy organic pineapple rings with no added sugar, & soaked in its own juice - but it became unavailable 10 years ago around the time of the devastating Philippine tsunami. Then dried pineapple laws required sugar to be added to the product. But the chewy over dried pineapple wasn't the best & the added sugar was way overdone. Or it was (highly) sulfured to look pretty. I never buy anything with added sulfites or sulfur dioxide (preservatives) due to sensitivities. However, less than 10 ppm in this pineapple is hardly any, plus the added citric acid would help as a preservative & I'm glad I bought it. This is the first dried pineapple in the past 10 yrs. that is close to what I miss so much. You can tell there's a bit of sugar added, but it is not too much. These remind me of my old favorite "soaked in their own juice" dried pineapple rings. And boy oh boy are these super good!

Really good

I've had those dried pineapple chunks in the 6oz bags before from the store, and those are pretty decent. But these are incredible. I'm not sure if its the fact that it's low sugar, or that it's whole rings, but eating these are a little too satisfying. It sort of reminds me of what it was like to eat bear claw/apple fritters. I ate mine quicker than I should've a while ago and still think about them now and then. The 5lb bag fit in one of my old 1 gallon coconut oil buckets, you'll want a container for them and probably refrigerate them to keep them safe from any bugs.
